On December 8, 2025, stakeholders from the automotive industry, suppliers, companies from the mobility and logistics sector, and representatives from administration and urban policy met at the TechBase Regensburg Innovation Center for the annual Regensburg Automotive Industry Strategy Dialogue conference. The event was hosted by the Cluster Mobility & Logistics' transformation network transform.r, which initiated the dialogue on the future of the automotive industry in the region.
The event focused on cross-industry exchange and the presentation of current and planned flagship projects with the aim of actively shaping structural change in the automotive and mobility industry in the Regensburg region.
After a welcome by Alexander Rupprecht (Managing Director, TechBase Regensburg) and Uwe Pfeil (Cluster Manager, Cluster Mobility & Logistics), a panel discussion followed with decision-makers from numerous companies and institutions, including representatives from business, science, and city politics.
This was followed by presentations of region-specific projects:
The Smart Dynamic Public Lighting project by sdp GmbH, the joint battery module line by Webasto Roof & Components SE (Schierling site) and Sonplas GmbH, the Mobility Data Hub, in cooperation with the City of Regensburg and Stadtwerk Regensburg.Mobilität GmbH, and the Regensburg East Energy Area (ERO) project for the production of green electricity (BERR eG).
These initiatives illustrate the breadth of the transformation: from smart infrastructure and sustainable energy supply to data-driven mobility and future-oriented battery technology.
The conference thus provided a valuable platform for companies, politicians, and administrators to coordinate ideas, concepts, and collaborations—an important step toward successfully mastering the challenges of the mobility transition and structural change in the automotive industry at the regional level.
As part of the transformation networks funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE), transform.r makes a significant contribution to the sustainable and future-oriented realignment of the automotive and mobility industry in Eastern Bavaria with events such as this.
