As the Bavarian State Government's competence and advisory center, the State Agency for Energy and Climate Protection (LENK) supports the implementation of the energy transition and the Bavarian climate protection offensive. We coordinate Bavarian activities for energy transition and climate protection and network all subordinate state institutions with associations and other important external actors.

The State Agency is an integral part of the Climate and Energy Division of the Bavarian State Office for the Environment (LfU) and is responsible for implementing the provisions of the Bavarian Climate Protection Act (BayKlimG). This includes participating in the regular monitoring of greenhouse gas emissions and supporting the Bavarian Climate Council.
