The French start-up CIDECO, which specialises in structural diagnostics and innovative vibration analysis for buildings and infrastructure, made targeted progress towards its planned market entry in Germany with a five-day visit to Regensburg in November 2025. This was made possible by the Corridor of Incubators (COI), a start-up programme run by the International Network of Michelin Cities (INMC). The network enables start-ups from the participating COI cities to visit partner cities.
CIDECO took second place at the INMC StartUp Award 2024 in Anderson (USA). Jury member Alexander Rupprecht, Managing Director of TechBase Regensburg, recognised early on the technical compatibility between CIDECO's solutions and the challenges facing Germany's infrastructure landscape. In view of its ageing infrastructure, Germany is facing growing challenges – an environment in which CIDECO's vibration diagnostics can make an important technological contribution.
Regensburg as the location for entering the German market
During its stay in Regensburg, CIDECO underwent a structured "soft landing process". TechBase not only provided a co-working space and access to relevant networks, but also facilitated direct contacts with engineering firms, the city of Regensburg and regional universities. This enabled CIDECO to establish important connections for entering the local market at an early stage.
Participation in "Clusters meet Regions" and targeted network building
As part of the visit, CIDECO took part in the international cross-innovation event "Clusters meet Regions". The event opened up valuable networking opportunities with European innovation clusters and at the same time increased the start-up's visibility among an international audience of experts. In addition, Regensburg welcomed a delegation from the INMC Corridor of Incubators network, which actively involved CIDECO in forward-looking strategy discussions.
In addition, the start-up established numerous business contacts, including regional industrial partners and the civil engineering office of the city of Regensburg. These connections proved to be particularly relevant, as CIDECO's technology focuses on the monitoring and service life analysis of infrastructure such as bridges and public buildings.
Contacts were also established with several universities in the region. Although these discussions were not originally planned, they subsequently developed into an important impetus for possible cooperation projects and initial business contacts with potential partner companies in Germany.
The INMC StartUp Award as a catalyst – apply for Cuneo 2026
The INMC StartUp Award 2024 thus formed the decisive starting point for networking between CIDECO and Regensburg. The start-up's successful stay impressively demonstrates how international programmes can open up concrete market opportunities.
Regensburg start-ups will soon have the opportunity to apply for the INMC StartUp Award 2026. Further information will follow shortly. If you are interested, please feel free to contactleonie.bechtoldtechbase.de.
