"Check It Out—Regensburg Can Do AI": AI Day Brings Artificial Intelligence to 11 Locations Across the City

Regensburg’s “AI Day” on September 25, 2026, will showcase how artificial intelligence is already shaping everyday life today and what opportunities it opens up for education, the economy, healthcare, mobility, and culture. At a press conference at TechBase Regensburg, the organizing team behind the AIR Artificial Intelligence Regensburg cluster presented the citywide program and the activities of the gold partners AUMOVIO Germany GmbH, risecon GmbH, and trinnovative GmbH.

Under the slogan “Take a Look – Regensburg Can Do AI,” artificial intelligence will come to life at a total of eleven venues in Regensburg: at TechBase, OTH Regensburg, and Degginger, as well as at Bücher Pustet, Heimat, the Regensburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the Upper Palatinate/Kelheim, the Andreasstadel movie theaters, the Multigenerational House, the Regensburg MINT Labs, trinnovative, and the Adult Education Center.
More than 50 participating organizations—including companies, universities, educational and research institutions, artists, and cultural venues—are organizing around 80 free events. The program is open to people of all ages and levels of knowledge: from children to AI experts.

The program includes exhibitions, lectures, workshops, live demonstrations, and more. Among other things, visitors can explore a VR fire extinguisher, smart home appliances, robots, and a forklift of the future. Other activities focus on prompting, chatbots, deepfakes, AI agents, and the Regensburg AI License. The program is rounded out by a reading, art, a movie, and an AI pub quiz. AI Day aims to highlight specific applications while also creating a space for discussion about the opportunities, risks, and responsible use of the technology.

AUMOVIO is presenting CoSmA, a digital vehicle access solution that turns smartphones and smartwatches into digital car keys. During live demonstrations, visitors can see how AI-powered algorithms determine the location of a mobile device and enable secure vehicle access. In addition, the company is offering an interactive AI workshop for young people. “AI realizes its potential when it creates real added value for people. That’s exactly what we want to demonstrate on AI Day—with technologies that make mobility easier, safer, and smarter,” says Karlheinz Vogl, Head of Industrial Engineering at AUMOVIO Regensburg.

risecon GmbH brings its expertise in the areas of IT strategy, digital transformation, and the strategic integration of AI into businesses. At AI Day, the company will analyze current developments in artificial intelligence from political, economic, and societal perspectives. “AI is here to stay, and we need to understand what that means for us,” says Dr. Tjorben Bogon, CEO and founder of risecon GmbH. For companies, he notes, it is crucial not to view AI in isolation as a purely technological issue, but to consider it in conjunction with strategy, organization, and people.

trinnovative GmbH is opening its doors for an event titled “AI Rooftop BBQ – AI That Really Sparks,” inviting attendees to a hands-on exchange. As an IT service provider specializing in cloud and AI, the company will present various live demonstrations. Participants will also have the opportunity to have their own use cases evaluated for potential and feasibility. Dr. Sebastian Erdenreich, CEO of trinnovative GmbH, explains: “Generative AI is changing the way we work just as fundamentally as the internet or the smartphone once did. Our goal is to integrate this development into everyday work in a practical and responsible manner.”
