Pitch & Match with the ARGE Donaustädte Economic Region

Regensburg, October 20, 2022 — What happens when corporations from the Donau region meet young, innovative startups? Exciting matches! That’s exactly what happened last Thursday at Pitch & Match, organized by the ARGE Wirtschaftsregion Donaustädte. Numerous participants gathered for the online event, which aims to connect corporations with young, innovative startups.

Speaking on behalf of the ARGE Wirtschaftsregion Donaustädte consortium, Andreas Höhn from the city of Deggendorf welcomed the participating corporations, startups, and audience members. He not only emphasized the great importance of such collaborations for the cities of the Donau region but also expressed himself as a big fan of the matching event. In addition to the municipal perspective, Hannes Krieger’s keynote address provided insight into the topic of industrial collaborations. Drawing on his work and experience as a coach, he was able to highlight key points regarding collaboration between corporations and startups—insights that were certainly helpful to some of the startups in attendance.

Following that, Prof. Dr. Veronika Fetzer—project manager of the Digitalen Gründerinitiative Oberpfalz and moderator of the event—finally handed the stage over to this year’s corporate representatives. This is precisely what sets Pitch & Match apart from regular pitch events: at Pitch & Match, it’s not the startups but the corporations that get to pitch. Julia Schwarz from Bayernwerk Netz GmbH, Christoph Priewasser from Digital Innovation Hub.Work, Lamin Ben-Hamdane from Infineon Technologies AG, and Andreas Höcherl from Strama-MPS Maschinenbau GmbH & Co. KG each had three minutes to present their companies and the challenges they face. After the four corporate representatives had presented their six topics, the event moved straight into one-on-one discussions.
 

And it is precisely this personal exchange between startups and corporations that drives networking in the Danube region and enables the ideas of young startups to be integrated into existing economic sectors.
